MEET THE CREATOR
Hello.
I'm Dan.
I believe learning about money should be free, understandable and something people actually want to do.
I write Boring Money Guy and created Mintmere Money: Interactive to bring that idea to life.

THE REASON IT EXISTS
Money matters. Understanding it shouldn't be a luxury.
Money affects so many of our choices, but a lot of us grow up without anyone properly explaining how it works. Then suddenly we're expected to understand mortgages, pensions, interest rates and investing as if we were paying attention in a lesson nobody ever gave us.
I started writing Boring Money Guy because I wanted to make those conversations more normal. Not just for people who already love finance, but especially for people who don't.
Making financial education free is only half the job. We have to make people want to engage with it, too.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
A normal life, with a slightly ambitious side project.
I'm married, and I work around 50 hours a week. Boring Money Guy and Mintmere are things I create around the day jobs and the rest of everyday life.
I mention that because I'm not coming at this from a world where time and money are unlimited. I know what it's like to have bills to pay, a busy week and financial choices that aren't always straightforward.
I don't have all the answers, either. I just think the things we learn about money should be easier to understand, easier to talk about and more interesting to explore.
THAT'S WHERE MINTMERE COMES IN
Engage first. Then teach.
I work in education, and one thing I keep coming back to is how much easier it is to learn something once you're genuinely interested.
So Mintmere isn't meant to be a library of long explanations. You can play a game, change the numbers in an experiment, watch a decision unfold or use something practical in your everyday life. Hopefully you have a good time. And, somewhere along the way, money starts to make a bit more sense.
No judgement for not knowing something. No need to have your finances sorted before you arrive. And no requirement to sign up just to get started.
THE WRITING BEHIND THE WEBSITE
And what's Boring Money Guy?
Boring Money Guy is where I write about money, financial education and all those conversations we don't have nearly enough. Mintmere is where some of those ideas become interactive.

Keeping the good stuff free.
I make these resources free because I believe financial education should be accessible to everyone. If you've enjoyed Boring Money Guy or found something on Mintmere useful, there is an optional way to support the work.
Any support through Ko-fi helps me continue making free writing, games and educational tools. No pressure, and nothing here requires a contribution.
MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
That's enough about me.
Whether you're here to learn something, have a laugh or figure out a money decision, I'm glad you found Mintmere. Start wherever looks interesting.
Mintmere provides general financial education and interactive tools, not personal financial advice.
